CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES
Position Title: Education Coordinator
Status: Full-Time
Reports To: Country Director
Location: Mwanza, Tanzania
Position Summary
The Education Coordinator is crucial in overseeing and improving the quality of education and operational effectiveness of Twelve21 Global schools in Tanzania. This individual ensures that our schools provide a Christ-centered education that adheres to the highest standards of excellence in line with our education philosophy. The Education Coordinator is responsible for driving continual improvement in academic performance, leadership, and school management.
The ideal candidate must possess specialized skills, extensive experience in the Tanzanian education system, and a proven track record as a school administrator. Knowledge, understanding, and exposure to the International Standard Classification of Education (ISCED) will be an added advantage but not a must.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Vision:
· Provide strategic leadership in shaping the educational direction of our schools, ensuring alignment with our mission and vision.
· Provide robust and visionary leadership to drive the schools toward higher academic excellence and holistic development.
· Inspire and guide school leaders, teachers, and staff toward achieving high standards of educational excellence.
· Collaborate with the leadership team to develop long-term plans for expanding and enhancing our educational programs.
· Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and staff to foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
· Collaborate with the respective government ministry to ensure that Twelve21 schools uphold the stipulated leadership qualities and standards at all levels.
2. Curriculum and Instruction:
· Ensure the education mission and philosophy of Twelve21 Global are being upheld in our schools.
· Oversee the implementation of the national curriculum that meets national standards and our students’ unique needs.
· Ensure that teaching methods are effective, innovative, and culturally relevant, fostering a love of learning among students.
· Regularly review and update the curriculum to incorporate best practices and respond to emerging educational trends.
3. School Administration:
· Support school heads and administrators in managing daily operations, ensuring efficient and effective functioning of the schools.
· Oversee the effective implementation of school comprehensive operating manuals and guidelines that standardize procedures across all schools.
· Ensure that all administrative processes, including enrollment, attendance, and resource management, are streamlined and effective.
· Ensure accurate records of student progress are maintained in accordance with school policy and take necessary action as required.
4. Staff Development and Evaluation:
· Lead the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of qualified teaching and non-teaching staff at Twelve21 schools.
· Oversee school staff evaluation processes to ensure high performance and professional growth.
· Provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance staff skills and knowledge.
· Foster a supportive, collaborative work environment that encourages staff retention and job satisfaction.
5. Quality Assurance and Compliance:
· Ensure all schools comply with Tanzanian education laws, regulations, and accreditation requirements.
· Implement rigorous quality assurance measures to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of educational staff, programs, and initiatives.
· Conduct regular audits of school operations, staff, and academic performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
6. Financial and Resource Management:
· Collaborate with the school heads, school administration, and finance team to develop and manage budgets for educational programs and school operations.
· Oversee the allocation of resources, including textbooks, materials, and equipment, ensuring they are used effectively and efficiently.
7. Community Engagement:
· Build strong relationships with local communities, government agencies, and educational organizations to promote the schools and their programs.
· Engage with parents and guardians to encourage their involvement in their children’s education and school activities.
· Represent the organization at different level forums, meetings, and other events to advocate for learning and educational excellence and share best practices.
8. Reporting and Documentation:
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all school operations, including student performance, staff evaluations, and financial reports.
· Ensure transparency and accountability in all aspects of school management.
· Prepare and present regular reports on the progress and performance of the schools to the organization’s leadership and stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
· Education: A Bachelor’s degree in education, Educational Leadership, or a related field is required; a Master’s degree is highly desirable. Experience and exposure to international standards of education will be an added advantage.
· Experience: At least 7-10 years of experience in the Tanzanian education system, including a minimum of 5 years in a school leadership or administrative role.
· Proven Expertise: Demonstrated success in improving school performance, leading educational initiatives, and managing school operations.
· Specialized Knowledge: Deep understanding of Tanzanian education policies, curriculum standards, and best practices in school management.
· Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others to achieve excellence.
· Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Swahili, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
· Cultural Competence: Sensitivity to the cultural, social, and economic contexts in which our schools operate.
· Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically and solve complex problems, focusing on continuous improvement.
· Commitment: A solid commitment to the mission and values of Twelve21 Global, with a passion for making a lasting impact on students’ lives.
Additional Requirements:
· Willingness to travel regularly between school sites and to other locations as needed.
· Fluency and good command of both written and spoken English and Swahili languages.
· Must be a committed local church member with a profound Christian faith and alignment with the mission of providing Christ-centered education.

Compensation:
· A negotiable, attractive, and competitive salary package will be offered.
· Contract term: 1-year renewable, subject to a three to six months probationary period.
· Hours of duty: 7:30 am to 4:30 pm (Monday to Friday);

Position Title: Primary School Teacher
Status: Full-Time

Position Summary
The Primary Teacher works under the supervision of the Headmaster to carry out the primary responsibility of teaching the students in the classroom.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Teaching Responsibilities
· Ensures that all lessons are planned with clear aims and objectives and are delivered in line with the departmental schemes of work and school policies.
· Takes into account the differing abilities of pupils and differentiates work accordingly.
· Encourages all pupils to actively engage in their learning and review their progress against specified learning goals.
· Checks that all subject matter is effectively communicated and understood by all groups of pupils.
· Sets appropriate tasks and challenges for homework according to the published timetable and ensures that homework is regularly marked with constructive feedback.
· Works with colleagues to formulate plans that meet the individual needs of the students to ensure they obtain the goals and objectives of the Twelve21 Global School.
· Ensures all activities are safe and contribute directly to the school’s educational objectives.
· Creates plans for substitute teachers if he or she is to be absent from school.
2. Classroom Environment and Discipline
· Ensures that all pupils are known by name and that the classroom atmosphere is always positive.
· Encourages and fosters intellectual curiosity.
· Deals with inappropriate behavior quickly and effectively according to the school discipline policy.
· Monitors pupil participation, demeanor, and attitude in class and ensures follow-up procedures are implemented when necessary.
· Keeps work areas tidy and organized to promote safety and learning.
· Establishes and maintains high standards for pupil conduct.
· Acts as a positive mentor and role model and promotes the school’s values and ethos.
· Teachers will be required to assist in extra-curricular activities.
3. Professional Responsibilities
· Sets an example of servant leadership.
· Uses Biblical principles to resolve disputes.
· When required, assists in the development of curriculum.
· Attends scheduled meetings in the subject-relevant department and school.
· Attends all role-relevant events as required by the school.
· Maintains a general knowledge of computers and technology and familiarity with technology resources such as Google Drive, Gmail, Microsoft Office, etc.
· Actively promotes the school’s policies at all times.
· Continues professional development under the supervision of the headmaster.
· Carries out a share of supervisory duties that the head teacher may reasonably require.
· Promotes teamwork and collaboration within the subject department.
· Seeks cultural sensitivity and humility in all aspects of Tanzania’s physical, spiritual, and educational culture.
4. Information Management
· Ensures the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date information on all classes taught.
· Identifies and takes appropriate action on issues arising from data, systems, and reports. (For example, producing reports for the department on assessment data, including examination data.)
· Ensures that attendance is taken and recorded daily.
· Ensures that grades are updated and posted on time.
· Keeps careful records of pupils’ progress, according to departmental and school policy; communicates and consults with parents/guardians; and takes other appropriate actions to ensure pupil progress.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
· Must be a mature Christian, having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
· Must agree with Twelve21 Global’s mission, vision, values, and statement of faith, and conduct themselves in a Christ-like manner.
· Must possess a Certificate or Diploma in education.
· Qualified to teach ALL PRIMARY SCHOOL SUBJECTS.
· 2-3 years of teaching experience at the Primary School level.
· Effective communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities.
· Ability to work well with people of different backgrounds and skill levels.
· Committed to individual and team goals.
· Must have a passion and dedication to the cause of the gospel in the world.
